How many types of #headstand can you see?
#sirsasana, a.k.a “king of all asanas” might come in different shapes or form. Sometimes you do leg variations, sometimes it’s the hands. And sometimes you don’t even need your hands at all! I love how this set up where can use the blocks to support your own body. Follow these steps if you wanna try:
1. You’d need at least 4 blocks but ideally 6 and a clear wall space.
2. Set up the blocks as pictured. But how high the blocks really depend on the length of your head 👽 and your neck 🦒.
3. Come to the wall as close as you can and bring the head between the blocks. The head doesn’t even have to touch the floor - so it’s great for those who have a neck issue and can normally not do a headstand.
4. Hands on the floor in front of the blocks and lift the legs (or kick them up). Stick the back to the wall. Keep the hands on the floor if you’re new to this.
5. Suck the belly in and keep breathing. I normally stay here for 1-5 mins and have a good 1-2 min of child’s pose. It’s my #espresso ☕️
Of course, have someone to spot you if you need extra help staying in headstand.

記得第一次見到係印度見到我老師做headstand , 我覺得我係唔會做到,但唔會放棄,呢個動作只係要時間,因為需要練習arm balance同core!同埋唔好心急。
因為你心急就容易受傷,我哋係安全咁去練習。所以我哋上堂,會大家扶持慢慢練習。

Arm Balance and Inversion Weekend Workshop with Carol Yeung on 25th to 26th of July 2020
Day 1: Arm Balancing Workshop
Focus: Understanding the essential elements of arm-balancing
How’s your Chaturanga like? Have you been stuck in this asana for a while? Do you know what’s the essentials to get the right form? Yes, this pose looks basic to a lot of you, but this is one of the key fundamental pose to nearly all types of arm-balancing asanas. If you have difficulties in achieving a proper Chaturanga, most likely there’s more work you can do with your Bakasana.
Get the basics right in the first place, and this will benefit you in the long run. The strength and awareness that you need from your shoulders, core, tailbone hips, quadriceps and hamstrings are the key to Chaturanga and arm-balancing.
Ready to conquer all of the above? Join me to level-up your practice!

Day 2: Inversion Workshop
Focus: Work on variations of Inversions
Spicing up the headstand practice with more variations of inversions. We will work on the strength and mobility that are necessary for all inversions (including headstand), but a stronger focus will be placed on forearm stand as well.
If you are interested in an afternoon of inversions, join me getting upside down!

*Note that the class size will be limited to 7 students maximum, but may change according to the the loosening up of the government restriction)
